ScreenToaster.com Review

Friday, October 17th, 2008

I recently stumbled upon www.screentoaster.com which is a new site that will record your screen via a Javascript function. I signed up for a beta test of this site yesterday and got to try out the online screen recorder today.

I can say that this is a brilliant idea that works really well and is handy for me. ScreenToaster allows you to screencast from anyplace that has an internet connection. Not only does the website allow you to save the screencast instantly, but it also automatically publishes the file as a flash video. Flash video is the best because it’s cross platform and degenerates nicely (older computers can usually display the videos without errors).

You can record the entire desktop or just an area very easily. Also, it’s nice to know you don’t have to have 3 different programs for each OS if you want to record your screen. Like some screencasters, ScreenToaster doesn’t slow down your graphical display as much. I don’t know how it really works, but it’s amazing and I really like this online screen recorder.

Interviews for WVUR

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

It’s week six of my Sophomore year here at Valparaiso University, and I love being on the radio. Last semester was my introduction to the radio world, and I am part of a stable morning show now.

The name of my show is “Rockin with Robo Panda”. It was the winning show name for an online poll, so we couldn’t not have the name.

As a morning show, we do an interview for each show. I love doing interviews, mainly because you get to talk to some cool people. So far I’ve interviewed Matthew Thiessen of Relient K, Genevieve Schatz of Company of Thieves, Evan Sears of the Sapiens, Nathaniel Motte of 3OH!3, and Chris Rolfe of the Chicago Fire. I’m sure there will be plenty more to come, and I’ll keep you posted. For all of the podcasts, go to www.valpo.edu/wvur and click on podcasts.

OJ Finally in Jail

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

We all knew he was guilty, but O.J. Simpson has finally been found guilty by a jury.

According to TMZ.com, “Simpson has been convicted on 12 criminal counts, including kidnapping, armed robbery and burglary. He faces life in prison.”

Right now, he’s waiting in jail to be transported to his final place of confinement.

Suprisingly, Simpson isn’t going to jail for what you might expect. Simpson is going to jail for trying to steal his property from a third party in Las Vegas, the town that Simpson travelled to for the court hearing at 11 PM Pacific Time.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing about this in the next few days.
