I recently stumbled upon www.screentoaster.com which is a new site that will record your screen via a Javascript function. I signed up for a beta test of this site yesterday and got to try out the online screen recorder today.
I can say that this is a brilliant idea that works really well and is handy for me. ScreenToaster allows you to screencast from anyplace that has an internet connection. Not only does the website allow you to save the screencast instantly, but it also automatically publishes the file as a flash video. Flash video is the best because it’s cross platform and degenerates nicely (older computers can usually display the videos without errors).
You can record the entire desktop or just an area very easily. Also, it’s nice to know you don’t have to have 3 different programs for each OS if you want to record your screen. Like some screencasters, ScreenToaster doesn’t slow down your graphical display as much. I don’t know how it really works, but it’s amazing and I really like this online screen recorder.

It’s week six of my Sophomore year here at Valparaiso University, and I love being on the radio. Last semester was my introduction to the radio world, and I am part of a stable morning show now.
The name of my show is “Rockin with Robo Panda”. It was the winning show name for an online poll, so we couldn’t not have the name.
As a morning show, we do an interview for each show. I love doing interviews, mainly because you get to talk to some cool people. So far I’ve interviewed Matthew Thiessen of Relient K, Genevieve Schatz of Company of Thieves, Evan Sears of the Sapiens, Nathaniel Motte of 3OH!3, and Chris Rolfe of the Chicago Fire. I’m sure there will be plenty more to come, and I’ll keep you posted. For all of the podcasts, go to www.valpo.edu/wvur and click on podcasts.

We all knew he was guilty, but O.J. Simpson has finally been found guilty by a jury.
According to TMZ.com, “Simpson has been convicted on 12 criminal counts, including kidnapping, armed robbery and burglary. He faces life in prison.”
Right now, he’s waiting in jail to be transported to his final place of confinement.
Suprisingly, Simpson isn’t going to jail for what you might expect. Simpson is going to jail for trying to steal his property from a third party in Las Vegas, the town that Simpson travelled to for the court hearing at 11 PM Pacific Time.
I’m sure we’ll be hearing about this in the next few days.

I got my laptop back from HP on friday. I am glad to have my laptop back, especially since I have lots of work to do now with school, IT, and WVUR. It took HP only 2 days to fix my computer, which I think is very reasonable.

My video card on my laptop decided that it didn’t need the fan on anymore. Bad decision, computer. Well, now my computer is in a box being sent back to HP for a free repair. Thank goodness for warrantys. Also, I must say that although I had to wait 20 minutes on hold for an actual person, the man I spoke with answered all of my questions and helped me out a lot. Thanks HP Technical Support!

After watching the Chicago bears pre-season game tonight, I have strong confidence in the bears newly acquired quarterback Caleb Hanie. Wearing number 12 and hailing from Colorado State, Hanie threw the ball well, ran the offense, and even showed some fancy footwork with some scrambling. This is very exciting to see after an upsetting loss in the 2007 Super Bowl and a less than promising quarterback by the name of Rex Grossman. With one touchdown and 54 yards, this may not sound great, but Hanie is not turning the ball over, which is huge. Although the Bears lost 24 to 20 to the Kansas City Chiefs, they put on a good show and played a great game, especailly for a pre-season game. Hopefully we can see Hanie develop into a great quarterback.

- SDTV - We all know that HDTV is coming soon to the US, so let’s just get rid of it now. It’s ugly.
- Dial-up - Especially AOL. Hasn’t this company gotten the idea that they should just stick to AIM? You can get faster internet for cheaper than most dial-up anyways. And while we’re at it, let’s get rid of old compu… wait.
- Old Computers - I think I speak for all IT specialists when I say that nobody wants to try to remember how to fix your old computer. Besides, they’re usually slow, outdated, and the hardware in them is probably covered in dust. Unless you can manage the computer by yourself, get rid of it.
- Flash Intro Pages - Nobody likes these. Really. And besides, they usually serve no practical purpose.
- Mac/PC Wars - Let the user choose what computer fits them the best. There is no real one size fits all computer, so stop trying to market them!
- Child Molesters - They’re just creepy and disgusting. If you have a valid argument against this one, I’d like to hear it.
- Blocked Names/Numbers on Caller-ID - I think that you should have the right to know who’s calling you, and from what phone number. I know of too many scams that could have been avoided if everyone knew the number from which the scammer dialed from.
- Babies at R-rated Movies - seriously, a crying baby really ruins the suspense.
- High Food Prices - I don’t really have a solution to this problem, but it sure would be great if my food was cheaper.
- Double Standards - If I can’t go into a ladies room, then how can two ladies just walk into a guys room with no punishment?
